Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4, 1975 at Los Angeles, California, USA to the couple of Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. After some time the couple got divorced. Angelina Jolie began her own acting career when she was only 5 years old alongside her Oscar-winning father in 'Lookin to Get Out' in the year 1980. At the age of 11 this talented youngster got admitted in the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and continued her career with professional modeling and music video shoots. She continued the Strasberg education with film studies at New York University and the Met Theatre Group in Los Angeles. During that time she made her debut on stage in 'Room Service', which was directed by her brother, James Haven, in five student movies.
Jolie spent the next couple of years trying to get reviews in various quality films. She starred in 'Glass Shadows' in 1993, 'Without Evidence', 'Hackers' in 1995, 'Foxfire', 'Love Is All There Is', 'Mojave Moon' in 1996, 'Playing God' in 1997, 'True Women' (TV in 1997).
For her performance in 'George Wallace' (TV in 1997) she won a Golden Globe award and was also nominated for the Emmy. She then won the National Board of Review Breakthrough Performance award for 'Playing by Heart' in the year 1998, and for 'Gia' (TV in 1998) she won another Golden Globe, a Golden Satellite, a Screen Actors Guild award, and a second Emmy nomination. In that year she married her fellow actor, Jonny Lee Miller. Her wedding outfit consisted of black rubber pants and Miller’s name in blood on the white shirt. But they got divorced a year later. Recently Jolie got married to Billy Bob Thornton and wrote her name in tattoo ink.
In the year 1999 Jolie appeared in 'Pushing Tin', 'Hell’s Kitchen', 'The Bone Collector' and the highly praised Girl in 'Interrupted' for which she won the Golden Globe award, a Screen Actors’ Guild award, a ShoWest award, and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. She also starred in 'Dancing In The Dark', 'Gone In 60 Seconds', 'Tomb Raider' and 'Along Came A Spider'.
