Justin Bieber, the 17-year-old Canadian pop sensation, finally went public with his rumoured girlfriend Selena Gomez at the Billboard Music Awards last night (22nd May 2011). Justin Bieber scooped six awards at the star-studded bash and ended months of speculation about his personal life by kissing Gomez in front of the sold-out Mgm Grand audience, reports the UK's Daily Mail.

The young couple didn't hide their affection for each other as Bieber dominated the awards ceremony in Las Vegas. 18-year-old Gomez followed up her kiss by hugging the 'Baby' star, who was sporting a sparkling gold tuxedo. The couple have previously refused to comment on their rumoured relationship, but recent photographs of the pair hand-in-hand had all but confirmed the speculation. After beating Bruno Mars and rapper Nicki Minaj to the 'Best New Artist' prize at last night's ceremony, Bieber told the audience, "I'm 17. every day is crazy to me because I see so many people and I get to make so many people smile". The 17-year-old also scooped the prize for 'Digital Artist of the Year', 'Fan Favourite of the Year', 'Top Social Artist', 'Top Streaming Artist', 'Top Pop Album' and 'Top Pop Album'.

Justin Bieber and the American rapper Eminem walked away with the evening's biggest awards, but there was also success for Katy Perry, Rihanna and Beyonce Knowles, who was honoured with a 'Millennium Award' for her career achievements.
