'Cause Today It Just Goes With The Fashion {Aerosmith}

I find myself in a bit of a conundrum. Have you been seeing the runways for Spring 2012? They are engulfed in pink. All shades of it. From stilettos to pants, handbags to scarves, tanks to tees. Pink has always been one of those few things in life that makes me cringe. It's so girly, and baby-ish -- though I do totally understand it on a baby girl. See the connection? But on grown women it is just sometimes way too much. Too "I'm trying hard to regain my youth", too "Women stay home and do the dishes while men go out into the world and work". It's just not me. Never has been. Maybe never will?

Or maybe I can embrace it a bit and choose my own kind of pink. Say, dusty rose rather than bubble gum. Maybe a thulian pink over magenta.
Basically what I'm trying to say is what I've seen on the runways are not my cup of tea. I highly doubt I will take part in much of the pink trend this Spring. It's just not my thing. Like these pieces, nice, but too much pink! They even love that middle skirt so much they put it up twice. Sheesh.
I must say, the two dresses featured on the right, I'd wear both of those in a heart beat. In gray, blue, black, even an olive green, white, anything other than pink!

If you're the fashionista-type, and you like keeping up with the trends, but are not digging the pink either, here are a few alternatives. These are all things that I would not even think twice about owning. Actually, I'd be happy with my selection.
All of these items can be found on Amazon.com
lululemon.com
Victoria's Secret -- The Original
Now these are some pinks that I can live with. Anything exercise inspired and I'm on it. I've always loved the PINK line from VS too. So many options and it's actually not all pink. That's the way to do it.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month: {October}

Unfortunately, it's true. Every single one of us knows someone, knows of someone, or will know someone with breast cancer in our lifetime. In 2011, The American Cancer Society estimated that 39,520 people will die from breast cancer. Somber facts.

The good news? So many people fight to find a cure, not only during the month of October, but all year long. In 2010 there were 1.6 million people who participated in the well-known Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and over 100,000 volunteers. This year there are 16 international races in 11 different countries. {There is actually one in 4 days in Naples. Had I known this maybe I would have planned ahead and taken a little trip down for a foot race. Maybe next year!}

Since I've been on a little bracelet kick lately with the Love for Lokomotiv Memory Bracelets, I thought it would be a great to offer some Breast Cancer Awareness bracelets to pair with your Memory Bracelet. Big thanks to My Style for offering so many great items in support of the cause. Take a look at the Shop Pink gallery and grab some of your favorites while they're donating some of the proceeds!

The Little Letter Bracelet offers six suede colors to choose from and three colors for the letters.

This little one from Shameless Jewelry would be a great gift for your little sister. Give your friends and family the boost they need to recognize the need for knowledge and action at a young age.

For those who have been diagnosed, or know someone close to them who has, this saying could not speak truer. Maybe Ash over at Carpe Diem would like this as well? ha!

Of course there's going to be an option for all you sporty ladies out there! Show your "Strength, Balance, and Endurance" as you fight for the cure.

I think this one is my favorite. It's beautiful and comes in four different color combinations. There is even a Butterfly Project Necklace for all you chain lovers out there. I'd have to say I could be a little partial to this one right now because it would look great with my Love for Lokomotiv Memory Bracelet.
Get yours and support the families of the Lokomotiv tragedy.
