It's Been a Good {Mustache}Ride

Sorry. I know that's a pretty gross saying usually but I'm using it in a nicer way. I promise.

Has your significant other been using his upper lip for good this month? I was lucky enough to be a part of a great cause, Movember, for the last 30 days. No, I didn't grow a mustache. It's not in my genes. But Matty did. Here he is alongside the other guys on his team who grew their 'staches to bring awareness for men's health and Team HP4K.

We had about a dozen teams and so many players across the globe participating. The guys may have looked more like they were brought into the drunk tank for the night rather than doing something for a good cause, but what can you do?

Let's end Movember on a high note and take a look at some of the greatest mustaches of all time!

Yes, I'm glad the mustache is a thing of the past, but for one month out of the year I can take it. Anything for a good cause in my mind. Or have you seen these? I really want myself a set.

Urban Outfitters really does have some great apartment stuff! Love their chaise lounges and little knick knacks. Not too many knick knacks though people. Don't want to look like a trailer in the middle of the Tennessee backwoods. And believe you me, I know what that is!

So for the last post in November let's leave on a good note, alongside a legend. Can't you just hear him say this?

Create Yourself

You have two free days coming up -- from work and all the crap that goes along with it. What will you do with it?

I've made the decisions lately to be invested in myself. That means I run, do yoga, lift, and stretch a lot. Fruits and vegetables are the new staples in my diet, and tea has taken a big leap  in the favorite beverages category. I feel good about what I'm doing with my body ...

... and my mind. I got a Kindle this year and I've already blown through four books since coming to Italy. That's two books a month and I'm already halfway through The Help and The Kind Diet is slowly, but surely, being read bit by bit. There are even three more books just waiting to be cracked open.

My Italian is also getting better as the days go by. It's nice to have people to speak with in English while I'm here but I would love to spend a little more time learning Italian. It's a beautiful language and I'd feel like I accomplished something awesome if I could really learn it. {Plus I could check off a 30 before 30!}

I've also been doing a little more work lately than usual. It's nothing to write home about but I like working. I feel like I'm doing something good, especially since a lot of it involves Movember. I love doing this to bring awareness for men's health. Movember is a great thing, ladies. Check it out and do a little something for your man's future!

Designer Envy

Yes, there are times when a nice pair of Steve Madden booties will do. Then there are days when you can't imagine buying something other than this fabulous pair of Christian Louboutin green, military-esque booties. What you wouldn't give to own a few quality pieces of designer beauty.

But as a girl on a budget it's not exactly possible to splurge on these things every time my little heart desires them. For someone like me, it's a few years worth of building even a very small collection. Sometimes I feel like I deserve to treat myself. Most of the time I realize how many more things I could have for the same price and I take that road instead.

Now, with Christmas just around the corner I'm eyeing up some classics and can't seem to pry my eyes away from them. I wonder how funny I'd look in my Louboutins, carrying my Louis, walking next to my Movember mustached husband? {The mustache is definitely a greasy look, ladies. Funny, but greasy.}

Te Adoro

Today in the wonderful land of Asiago there's more rain. It has been cloudy and rainy, and down right curl-up-on-the-couch-with-a-good-book-and-a-coffee kind of weather all week long. It's chilly, but not too cold. It's getting dark earlier since we've already turned back the clock and all this can only mean one thing ...

I'm heading to Barcelona. Spain that is.

Tomorrow morning we're boarding Ryan Air for our first ever trip to Barcelona, Spain. It's going to be a doozy. We're going with some of our best friends and a few new ones! Three days and two nights worth of great times, good people, food, drinks and sun!

Oh, wait a minute. Uh oh. MOTHER FU....

Is that rain? Are those clouds? And mid to high 60's? Not quite what I had in mind. Okay, whatever, let me change that sentence up there.

Three days and two nights worth of great times, good people, food, drinks and sun culture! (?)

I need to do some reading up tonight so I know what I'm looking at while I'm there. No beaches for this girl. Which means my chosen picture isn't quite as representative as I thought it might be either. Just kick me when I'm down Spain. Kick me when I'm down.

Okay, I'm done complaining. I'm actually not that bummed. I've been looking forward to this trip for months now. We've had it on the agenda for awhile and even when I thought Matty was about to back out, he surprised me and looked up flight times himself! Besides, I get to cross off one place on my Europe: Top 10 list.

As a major plus, in my eyes, Barcelona has themselves a STARBUCKS! Actually they have a ton! On a map it looks like they have about 10 within walking distance of our hotel.

I'm off to do a little research on this great place we're about to visit. Hopefully I find something really awesome and culture-like to explore while there. After that I'm back to the daily Movember grind. That's right, Team HP4K is movin' and groovin' with a dozen teams participating and dozens of players!
