Weekend Prep
Heading out into the blistering cold weather this weekend? Stock up on some essentials to prepare yourself against the dry air and wild winds.
Drink water. This is the absolute best thing you can do for your skin to stay hydrated. Everything is dry in the winter. Your house, your work, the car, the outside air. Keep a bottle with you at all times, and keep it full. Also by "bottle" I don't mean one of the 50 billion plastic ones. I mean something reusable, cute, and sustainable. Check out Blissmo for deals on items like the MiiR bottles. {It's like Groupon for eco-friendly people!}
Vitamin E. It helps to hold in your natural moisture and is great against the sun's damaging rays. Try foods like broccoli, avocado, leafy greens, almonds, mango ... go for a Google search of foods with Vitamin E and stock up!
Lotion. I recommend a cream. Something that will coat your skin, and act as a barrier rather than a temporary fix. My favorite cream is Nivea. It's not too heavy so you don't feel super oily all day, but it's enough to make sure you're not re-applying every other minute.
Enjoy your weekend!
