Justin Bieber snatches 6 awards in Billboard Music Awards

Justin Bieber, with his now short spiky hair and a sparkling gold tuxedo jacket, dominated 6 awards at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22

Bieber helped lead the way on stage beside pop stars at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Among his 11 nominations, Bieber snatched Top New Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Artist, Top Streaming Song with "Baby," and Top Pop Album with "My World 2.0."

"I'm 17...every day is crazy to me because I see so many people and I get to make so many people smile," he said. Bieber thanked "everybody who helped me get out of my home town and live my dream."

As a Canadian pop singer, songwriter and actor, Justin Bieber is loved by his fans, so-called "Beliebers."

In 2008, he was discovered by Scooter Braun, later to become Bieber's manager, when Braun came across Bieber's Youtube videos. Bieber then signed with Raymond Braun Media, a joint venture between Braun and Usher. In November, 2009, Justin Bieber released his first album, "My World " with guest vocals by Usher. "My World" was certified platinum in the U.S.

Hitting the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 with his first single, "One Time," Bieber embarked on a mini Justin Bieber Tour, where tickets sold out for each date.

Bieber began recording his second album, "My World 2.0" in July 2010 in New York City. "My World 2.0," Pop Album winner at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards, was released in March 2010 as a complement to his first album, featuring top charting singles "Baby," winner of Streaming Song.

Besides the few Justin Bieber concerts around the country, Bieber has appeared on the MTV VMAs, The Dome in Europe, MuchMusic in Canada, and on the Today Show in NYC.
