Halloween 2011

Happy Halloween 2011! From my familia to you.

It was Illiana's very FIRST halloween, as you know halloween is my favoritest holiday; so we HAD to get her in her very first ever costume. She was our little cow and we were the boring farmers.

I manage to grow Juls some scruff to go with the costume. Since he can't grow any scruff on his own within a day or EVER, lol. Of course had to make him dirty as if he were in the fields hard at work with his little cow.

Don't mind my makeup, at work was Fairy inspired; I didn't have enough time to take off my makeup because I had just gotten off work and threw on a farmer plad shirt I had and we headed out the door to trick-or-treat with Illi.

Hope everyone had a great halloween this year. Time is FLYING before my eyes, Illiana is already 9 months! It's unbelievable! (:

Bumble Bee inspired

Here was my look I wore to work, it was a FREE FOR ALL (so whatever we like for halloween); I kept it simple but FUN. cuz I wanted to be able to wear it out after work.

I did the black brows, just simple yellow shadow on the lid and outter corners. Black liquid liner on top, black pencil liner on the lower lash line and water line on the outter corners as well. Threw on some Sephora 'Elegant' lashes on top, and Daiso #4 lashes cut in half on the bottom. Nyx - Hestia Lipstick I originally wanted to do black lips, but I didn't have any black lip products at hand; so I just threw on whatever I had. Oh ya and a hint of Mac Solar Riche bronzer.

So tomorrow is officially halloween and at work we are going for a FAIRY WONDERLAND type feel. I'm still unsure of what I'm going to do exactly. But theres definitely going to be glitter involved. I'm never good with glitter, since I've always been the clumsy type; be spillin all over the place. I'll try to get some pics in for tomorrow's look as well. And what my costume is going to be for tomorrow night. Have a good one.

"Take It To The House"

Today, while hanging laundry out on the balcony, I tripped.

I fell into the door, smacked it pretty hard trying to keep myself up, and I succeeded. Then I looked at my husband who actually looked legitimately concerned.

He did not laugh.

Until I sort of cracked a smile. Then we both started dying. I like him.

I'm Loving How Awkwardly Awesome Random Thursdays Are!

I didn't participate in "What I'm Loving Wednesday's" this week so I'm sort of doing it today. Except that it's a sort of random thoughts, things I love, and God knows what else, post. Maybe slightly close to an "Awkward and Awesome"? Which I haven't done in awhile either. Hmm.

Maybe I'll call this I'm Loving How Awkwardly Awesome Random Thursdays Are! Catchy. Done.

>> In case you haven't noticed - I'm a really big fan of stringing many words together to create one big word, or one big title. I'm not overly clever all the time, but sometimes lightning strikes. In the mean time you end up with things like what I've named today's post.

>> I just made some tea. Green tea to be exact. Except there's a problem here. Matt made himself some coffee before he just left for the game, and even after taking out the filter and reloading everything for my wonderful tea...my tea looks like this:
Sorry about the recycling in the back. Oh and Santa. It's the only mug we have.
Christmas can never come too early!
>> I actually made something that I pinned. Yup. This is a bottle of prosecco (someone left it here, I don't drink the stuff) that I wrapped with blue/gray/cream yarn. I'm going to stick a nice little flower in there. When I find one!
That's our view off the balcony to the right. Pretty day! It was better lighting than inside.
>> Today I woke up at 8:50. That's really saying something. But then I took a nap from about 10:30 to 12:00. One step forward, two steps back.
The Devil gets to say that many times a day with me!
>> Matt bought me a pumpkin ... under the assumption that I would make pumpkin pie. I'm not sure who he thinks he married but that's going to be a disaster! I did however find a little recipe for pumpkin funnel cake! I'm about a 4 out of 10 on pumpkin cookies, last year I made pumpkin ravioli which was a 10 for taste and a 2 for presentation. I also asked him one time if I could grow my own pumpkin patch. He said only if I make pumpkin pie from it. I'm just not sure he gets it.
My pumpkin!
>> Last night and today I've been searching for a really good version of "It Is Well With My Soul" on YouTube. I haven't really found it. But then I came across this. It's been awhile since I've seen it. Awesome song, awesome version with Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood. Carrie is unbelievable...and a hockey wife!

a Good Day

Happy Wednesday! Your work week is almost over - if you work like a normal person. I don't fit this category. Moving on.
After another tough loss last night I'm sure the boys of HC Asiago are not exactly in the best moods. Not getting home until four in the morning doesn't exactly help with their energy levels today either. Even with the loss, Matt got his first goal of the year and I thought that deserved a nice breakfast.
I made him a turkey, onion, and parmesan cheese frittata along with peanut butter toast, coffee with milk and some vitamin juice. It was actually timed perfectly because I was stirring the coffee as he came down the stairs. He seemed to enjoy this nice little treat ... until he tried to clean the egg out of the little cup I baked it in.

The cup was for presentation, not functionality. My bad.

Yesterday I went around town in the pouring rain searching for elements for a birthday present for one of the girls here. I found everything I needed and Matt was nice enough to help me put it together just a few minutes ago. It wasn't tough, and it's nothing super special, but I thought it was a cute idea - on Saturday, her birthday, I'll reveal what I did! She reads this. {STOP SNOOPING MINDI!}

I also got myself a yoga mat yesterday. I feel like the clouds should part and trumpets should sound right now. Only 8 euro! Woop! I've made the executive decision not to get a gym membership until it's absolutely too cold for me to run outside and do fun little mini-workouts elsewhere. This mat extends the time before I need a membership as well. Now I can do sit ups, push ups, stretching, and, well, yoga in the comfort of my own home all year long. Thank you Asiago Euro Store!

This is my goal by the end of the year: a hand stand. Not just getting up there, but a controlled, extended time period, hand stand. Head stand? no problem. Crow? no big deal. Hand stand? Let's do this.
My dailymile goal this week was to get 15 miles by the end of Sunday. I'm at just over four and a half which means I'm heading out again today. It was raining all morning but there's a little calm in the storm so I need to take advantage. 3.17 miles on the agenda today! If it starts raining while I'm out it will just push me faster to get home. It's definitely not a bad thing to take time off your mile!

Great Weekends Make for a Fabulous Monday

I did it. I did not go on Pinterest one time this weekend - after I wrote that post, that is. I'm not saying I didn't talk about it, a lot, but I refrained from pinning and it felt good. Or at least I felt like a normal person again.

Saturday Matty had another home game and it didn't go as well as we had planned. They lost in overtime taking their record to a horrendous 3-3-2-1. For those of you who don't know that's 3 wins, 3 losses, 2 over-time losses, and 1 shoot-out loss. Don't you worry, I had to ask Matt to explain it to me before I even wrote that. That's not the way we saw this year going. Not. At. All.

Despite the loss we spent some time with great friends, burnt hot dogs, beer and wine, baby kicking, and the girls going to bed "early" until the boys decided it was time to part ways. Early the next morning. It happens.

Yesterday we had a delicious breakfast straight from the "Marriotte" buffet line that consisted of omelettes, sausage and potatoes. Also a little Jersey Shore Reunion watching. If this was Twitter ... #yummm!
We walked around town, did a little window shopping, grabbed some pizza and tiramisu, and I finished off the weekend reading 10% of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I say 10% because my Kindle only goes by percentage, not pages. Which means that I never know how much further until I finish a chapter. This makes it very difficult to say Just give me 2 minutes and I'll watch that show with you, honey.

But this is where I come to my next problem. Kindle. I love it. It's probably the best investment (aside from my computer) that I've made on this European vacation we're on. Lugging multiple books over here each year takes up weight in my checked luggage, space in my carry-on, and then I finish them in one month and have nothing else the rest of the year.

Kindle = Life Saver. That doesn't sound like a problem? Here's the problem:
The new, bottom of the line, Kindle for only $79, Kindle Touch for a measly $99, and Kindle Fire (which could {sort of} rival the iPad) for only $199. Are you kidding me? I contemplated my Kindle purchase for a year. Then three months later this? UGH!

Thanks for ruining my life Amazon. Thanks. -- Too much? Okay.

At least today I got to experience my friend Mindi's favorite bakery here in Asiago. I got a donut filled with cream. It was so good that I had to go for a four and a half mile run afterward. Still in the bag? One of those sugar donuts that I believe also has something oozing in the middle. Tomorrow I'll conquer that pastry. Then run again.

What I'm {NOT} Doing This Weekend

I may be lying to myself ... okay, I lied ... because today is already Saturday and I've already done some pinning.

WHEN WILL IT STOP!

Go on Pinterest. Do it now! You'll find amazing things and wonderful new ideas. Things like these:
'nuff said.
next summer, expect this matthew.
who thought of this? you're a genius.
cheesecake inside of strawberries. healthy treat? well it's better than a whole cheesecake!
wide plank floors, white/ivory cabinets, beauty.
So it's very possible that I spend most of my week perusing this site. Starting now at 12 PM on Saturday I'm stopping. I'm spending the rest of my weekend being awesome in Italy. That means I'm going to eat a pre-game meal (for the game I'm not playing), take my pre-game nap (because I deserve that), go watch HC Asiago kick some Alleghe bum, then spend my Sunday enjoying the -hopefully- good weather with friends!

Happy Weekend. Peace out Pinterest. Until next time. Or Monday. Whatever, get off me.

My next BIG purchase

Louis Vuitton's Damier Azur Canvas in Siracusa GM

$1,530.00

Must. start. saving.
This will be my FIRST LV bag, I am determined! I love the Damier Azur Canvas. I love the style of this one and the roomyness. And my go-to messenger strap, perfect for all time use; so I can have my hands free. We all know I need my hands free now a days with a baby girl to handle. I hope to get this bag by New Years (idealy), but I don't think it's going to happen til next summer ): We shall see.

Bestie Borrowed

Maybe you've seen this little button before. Maybe you haven't. Either way, I think you should become familiar with it.

Shop Mamie. For some reason I always end up typing it ShopMaMie - I really just want to capitalize my M's! This is a little online boutique, created by some beautiful, super nice girls {one happens to be a hockey wife!}, who love fashion and understand what it's like to be a girl on a budget.

All featured items are under $100! Yes, you read that correctly. There aren't too many places anymore that offer great finds under $100. You usually have to give up quality or give up your lunch for a week just to find these kinds of things. Well not anymore!

Here are a few of my favorite pieces they're currently carrying:
Little Lady Skirt
$42
Midnight Fever One Shoulder Dress
$78 (ON SALE!)
She's From Boston Coat
$135 (Okay, so coats are just over $100!)
Oh, oh, and check out today's post on Style Me Mamie and you just might see someone you recognize!

1.
This hairstyle. If anyone wants to send me a super easy tutorial, I'll pay you. Okay, I won't pay but I'll give you props. I've tried to do this a few times over the last couple days and I have not yet figured it out. Help!!

2.
I want to be in a place right now where I can wear this entire outfit and be comfortable. It's too cold here. It's impractical here. I don't have anything like this here. I want.

3.

4.
Like I've said before, love this for storing ... anything.

5.
I know people think it's nuts but I love the idea. Maybe not hearts, not names, but something. It would be especially nice since my husband can't quit taking his ring on and off, on and off, dropping it on the ground, juggling it, etc. In the middle of the night I'll hear it roll across the floor because he can't quit messing with it.

6.
Too bad it's not Summer anymore. I'd really love a pair.

7.

8.
Of course, Match.

On the Go

I've been busy lately. So busy that I can't find the time to blog. And when I say busy, I mean that I've been doing a lot of fun things over here in Italy and just didn't want to spend an hour sitting at the computer. Sorry.

Let me recap:
The girls here and I went to Lago di Garda to hang out, visit a wonderful Italian friend of mine, and basically just to get out of the house while the boys were off for an away game.

I think they lost that game. Who knows?!

The friend we visited was from Fassa (where we played two years ago) and the boys were in Fassa playing. Yes, I guess we could have gone there but Lago di Garda just seemed like a better idea at the time!
Oh, Venice, how I love you. We spent about five hours walking around Venice this past weekend. It may not seem like much to you that have never been there, but it's a lot. Plus, I've already been there before. And it's less than an hour and a half away from our home so I'm sure we'll see it again many-a-times before the end of the season.

This time our Venetian trip consisted of a stop at McDonald's for a Big Mac (can't pass that up), some attempted pigeon kicking (yes, I like to try and kick pigeons), as well as a stop at the Hard Rock Cafe (which was conveniently located right next to this picture of all the gondolas).

At the Hard Rock I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It wasn't so much pulled as it was just a hunk of pork, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't and I was very happy with Italy's version.
Last night, on a Monday, we had a team cook-out up the mountain in this little bitty shack/cabin. All of the girls were in attendance (from left: Laura, Stephanie, Mindi, moi) although many aren't pictured here.

It was freezing so I decided to leave around seven PM. I got home, saw how messy the apartment was, and decided I either needed to head back up there or I would be angry and cleaning until about midnight. Needless to say I went back.

A three minute drive and 10 minute hike later and I was back up that giant, frozen hill. Matt and I, along with one other guy, stayed until the kegs were drained. In case you're wondering, I was the DD. So those nut jobs drained those kegs. I'm more responsible than that, c'mon!
I've currently been loving this blog. Have you seen it before? A friend here introduced me to Kelle at Enjoying the Small Things and I have checked her out almost everyday since. She has two beautiful girls, takes amazing pictures of all their adventures together, and even throws in a few discount codes here and there for you shoppers!

One of Kelle's daughters has Down Syndrome but that doesn't stop them from having an amazing time. Her blog makes me think of all the cool things I'd like to someday do with my kids. She even brings awareness to Down Symdrome on her site and offers advice to those who might be in the same situation.

Overall her blog proves that she is one kick-ass mom and that everyday truly is a blessing.

Who Wears the Pants?

I've never been a fan of too much color in a wardrobe. It has just never been my thing. They say people are "scared" of color. But that's not quite true of me. I happen to feel good in black, gray, navy, hunter, white, ivory ... I could keep going but I think you get it.

I'm seeing a lot of color these days in a place where you wouldn't necessarily expect it. It's beyond me but I'm loving it. For some reason I really don't think I could pull it off, but seeing these pictures really makes me want to try. Maybe I'll have to grab something from Forever 21 to start. Go cheap and see if it works. Then invest. What do you think of the colored pant?

Oh, and yes, I'm big fan of the Harem Pant. When done right. No dumpy bum here, just class.
I've spent an unbelievable amount of time on Pinterest lately. It's part of the reason why I've been MIA from blogging. I just can't help it. I'm obsessed. There's so much to see, so much to do. I think anyone and everyone should take a look at it. Happy Pinning!

Akon’s First Bollywood Hindi Song in SRK Movie RA.One

Singing is a part of art, and Indians understand music a lot, as there is a wide range of music in this land itself," says Akon. We caught up with Akon to talk to him about Bollywood, India, his first Indian song and much more.

Indian Fans
I was surprised to know how many fans I have here in India, especially in North and South India. They love me so much! So, I decided to tour in Bangalore, Delhi and Gurgaon. I will be playing hit chart numbers, as per audience demand. I wish I could perform all over the country, but because of time issues, i can't. The next time I perform in India, it will be in the rest of the cities, for sure.

Bollywood
Firstly, thanks to Shah Rukh Khan, who introduced me to Bollywood. I am very happy to be a part of it now. It's an amazing industry, with a great audience. In India, you have a large audience. Some day, I would love to act in Bollywood movies too, though I am not sure of the kind of movie to be in.

Chummuk Chullo
For my fans in India and all over the world who understand Hindi, I have sung a song in my new album called Stadium. The song is called Chummuk Chullo. It was very challenging to sing the song, especially the pronunciation, but it turned out well.

Favorite Indian Singers
I like Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan a lot. They are really big talents over here. India has a wide range of artists. I have collaborated with Adesh Shrivastava too, and it was a great experience.

Inspiration
I usually get inspired when I am traveling. I have recorded so many songs while I am traveling. In my next album, Stadium, you will heard a lot of travel songs. I am sure Indian tourists will connect with my songs.
